wondering if i have got this right
when you return a wu you get Pending Validation and when a total of 3 of the same wu is returned status is changed to valid if other two wu returned are the same if not then marked invalid ?
and Granted BOINC Credit is (user a + user b + user c)/3 ?

Not quite.

If the first three don't match, your result will be marked "inconclusive" until BOINC gets 3 matches, and decides whether yours is valid or invalid.

The credit algorithm is a little more complicated than that, but it's close enough.
