BOINC App: 78 credits for 0.0 hours?

workunitId=4624731

It looks like one host/user got credits for 0.0 hours of work (its state is "Valid"). Not bad! Any ideas/explanation?

(Mods: Feel free to move ths post to the correct forum. I'm not sure what project it is, actually (HPF2?)

Cheers, Shai

Could be the Win98 issue. BOINC under Win98 always reports 0 hours of work, even if the WU was crunched for several hours.

Is being brought up on these fora every few months including last week . Happens occasionally where client reports zero hours and claims zero too. The WU is Valid, thus the 'Outlier' rule will not include the zero and mean is computed from remaining in quorum and awarded to all valid. Whether W98 related i don't know..... there are very few left per BOINCstats.

Where did u get that WU number from? The one to report is that what you see in the result status page, not the one that sits in any validation logs.

Re: BOINC App: 78 credits for 0.0 hours?

I just checked the result returned by that client and they did correctly and completely process the workunit (there is a complete result returned) thus it is correct that they are marked as valid. The points that were awarded to that user were then based upon the number of structure attempts. The only thing that appears incorrect is the cpu time reported by this computer. This user is running the 5.8.4 client - this is a beta version that was used for testing.
