Hi fellow crunchers!!
SETI.USA would like to invite you to join us in our journey to the top of BOINC overall!! Despite our team name, we are more than just a SETI team, we are participating in most if not all Boinc projects, and growing quickly. We are the first team and only team (so far) to reach 1,200,000 RAC in BOINC We are currently the #1 SETI Team world wide and the #1 USA Team!! Our current team goal is to become the #1 team in BOINC overall!! In order to accomplish this goal we are crunching and recruiting in all of our BOINC projects. We are a very active and fun loving team and offer the following to our members: Website Newsletter Message Board Team Chat!! (Regular Monday night chat session, but always available.) Come Join in the fun as we strive to reach our goal of becoming the #1 Team in BOINC overall!! Everyone welcome regardless of nationality!! |

----------------------------------------SargeD, It is good news that you have discovered something important, i.e. there is another big grid platform where lots of people are already "accomplishing something amazing together", and you were not participating in that fun. I have read your post and the home page of your site with great attention and, at first, I have the impression that most of your goals and ours do not match. Your team wants to become "#1 Top Team" in the world by "respectfully consolidating and assimilating users into one focused USA powerhouse". WCG wants to help and speed up research as much as possible, i.e. by attracting more and more crunchers around its various projects, not by moving people between teams. Simply said, that means enlarging the size of the pie, not playing with the size of the shares. However that does not mean that we do not like statistics, competition and all that sort of fun that keeps us motivated and interested while our computers are doing the real work, and I have attentively looked at WCG team stats and at BOINCStats. Good news! I think I have found a few new #1 goals that might interest SETI.USA and WCG together, simply with your current set of members, without moving a single member from one team to another. 1. (very easy) Become #1 daily contributor in WCG points. Yesterday in WCG: 3,729,435 WCG points. Yesterday for SETI.USA: 1,310,816 BOINC credits, i.e. 9,175,712 WCG points. 2. (more difficult, but achievable and very challenging) Become #1 WCG team by points. I know, it is 1,566,191,095 WCG points to catch up, but with your potential it is really achievable (see goal 3 below). 3. Be the fastest team reaching #1 by points in today's WCG. According to yesterday's stats your team could do it in only 288 days (less than 10 months!), which is really amazing!!! And if you were also able to recruit a few hundreds true-new crunchers you might even 4. Become the largest team in WCG and reach goal 3 even faster. What do you think? Isn't it exciting?
