Re: The Edwardians have arrived!

It's been a quiet old day. wink

Well let me make a little noise for you then... laughing My stats should be on the rise very soon as I added another Q6600 Quad processor last night. In addition I have 2 more Quads being delivered tomorrow morning, which will, hopefully, be crunching by late evening. I may pickup couple more Quads so I can get rid of all the high power burning machines. My goal is to end up with around 13 machines with a total of 32 processors (combo of Quads and Core Duos) and still having some fair crunching ability. I've already reduced my Electrical usage from $900.00 to $500.00 a month (and still running the A/C 24/7) which is a little more tolerable...
Y'all

Thanks Owlie biggrin where do you put all those machines I wonder cool

Re: The Edwardians have arrived!

Wow Owlie - I feel humbled sitting by my one machine struggling to do one unit a day. Great stuff though, how we appreciate the numbers. It makes us all look good.

My big day's tomorrow when I tear the guts out of this and start on putting the new bits together. And to think I feel amazed at just upgrading to a dual core. Maybe I can get up to one and a half a day.

As I'm doing a clean reinstall of XP and then hope all my saved bits come together, it may be a little while before I'm back crunching but then, hopefully, can make up for the time lost.

Have a good evening all.

Ivan, I put a Core 2 Duo (E6750 slightly overclocked) together a couple of weeks ago (to attempt to keep up with JP) and it was the best thing I've ever done, computerwise. It accounts for 40% of my production and the CPU temp is only 34C full out. You'll like your output.

Nothing to feel humble about BI, I started crunching six years ago with only one machine... After my wife passed away and I retired, other than a few brews everyday I didn't have to much else but Computers to spend money on... biggrin Didn't't get the Quads today as I expected but am expected them tomorrow, Thursday at the latest.

Crunching on Peeps... We can only go up from here! wink

P.S. I hope everyone is using BOINC as it about doubles your points... Swallow that pride and dump the UD agent for good... biggrin
