am i the only 1 or is the boinic task manager downloading at unusably slow speeds , bit torrent is supposed to be faster not slower

any ideas appreciated

ive just switched to BOINIC after a year on the IBM machine
hopefully ive missed something

Not familiar with anything called BOINIC. Possibly you meant BOINC wink.

WCG does not use the bittorrent distribution. That is something for the further future.

Why downloading would be slower, I don't know and it's also not really of importance unless on dial-up. Why is, because BOINC transmits while computing.... multitasking so to speak.

Added: The default profile for transmission speed with BOINC is unrestricted, but you can limit if you like.
