There are quite a few for testing , but think this is probably one of the best
So with the new Projects , you might want to test your internet speed Here For me shows ; download 2529 k/bs , upload 531 k/bs at this moment |

From this work computer, on a T1 line, it shows 1380 down/1415 up.
----------------------------------------I'll try it from my 'supposed' 8mb cable connection when I get home. --------- On cable, advertised as 8Mb, I get 6M down and 700K up. I don't know if any of the other 11 computers on my network were active, with all the kids, grandkids and foster kids, it's almost impossible to find a time no one else is online. my tests showed slightly better than I am supposed to have: 1.5MB down, 256KB up.

My DSL is rated at 5Mbps down, 512kbps up. I check in on it once in a while but I've never gotten less than that, even during peak periods like late afternoon. Our telephone company is still publicly owned and they actually provide good service considering they are a monopoly in a very large province with less than 1 million people. My town recently got a free upgrade from 1Mb service to 5Mb so I can't complain!
