Re: Where's the fun... (???)

Hello ilmiser,
Courine is running a thread in Suggestions ( http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=16370 ) titled 'Team Challenge problem? [revisited]' which looks like a good place to post problems with challenges. I do not expect that this will bring an instant solution, but it will make it easy for us to keep track of all the different problems that can occur that we need to work on.

Re: Where's the fun... (???)

It does seem sort of pointless for a team with a lot of members and devices to challenge one that has just a couple. However sometimes teams with just a few members can have a lot more devices and/or computing power than you might otherwise imagine.

What team are you on and who is challenging you?

I haven't participated in a challenge (as far as I'm aware) but I thought the point was to have everyone on the team try to recruit new members and squeeze ever last bit of performance possible out of their existing devices. Personally I don't see any point to a challenge where there is already a huge disparity in computing power.

And you're right - it IS supposed to be FUN!!!

Re: Where's the fun... (???)

This should be easy to sort

If you set a challenge for a two member or X PC team then it ought to be possible to disallow any team not matching your criteria when they try to sign up to the challenge.

In the meantime to reduce your blood pressure and bring a smile back to your face...

You could just ignore them and get on with your challenge

Best of luck with your crunching

Dave
