Slow download and upload time - to site admin's.

Is it just me or does this website and the client seem to be hosted on dial-up? Seriously it takes an awfully long time to load this website, if it loads and takes even longer to download the newest project. Is there anything IBM can do about this?

Also since this is the first post I've had the chance to post, is there anyway to get threads that an individual posts linked to their e-mail? That way when there's a response an e-mail will be sent to advise of a response.

cool Re: Slow download and upload time - to site admin's.

Um... are you using a modem? I wait 10 minutes during intermission because I use a modem... it's really no big deal for me, however, I can't really say for sure since I have no experience with DSL/Cable/Broadband connections cuz I'm stuck with a modem... lol. Anyways, if it seems to be as slow as a modem on a faster connection, there may be something odd, you do have to remember, a lot of data is being sent back and forth at any given moment... all of those work units... anyways, that's all I got for now... remember to keep crunching! wink biggrin cool

confused Re: Slow download and upload time - to site admin's.

I use ADSL, so I have no speed problems. Some people complained about slow downloads back in November 2004 when so many new members were starting. It turned out to be a problem with their Internet security programs which slowed down the interconnect.
