Im using boinc_5.8.16_i686-pc-linux-gnu.sh
I have a proxy @ work where I'm running my machines, so first I have to enable that. When I try to run boincmgr I get this : Authorization failed connecting to running client. Make sure you start this program in the same directory as the client. What does it mean?? I got my files in /root/BOINC Or I get this :: BOINC Manager is not currently connected to a BOINC client. Please use the 'Advanced\Select Computer...' menu option to connect up to a BOINC client. To connect up to your local computer please use 'localhost' as the host name. I put localhost ,and the root password but its not accepting it. Is there something I need to clean/remove/restart... I've installed BOINC on about 20+ machines, and it just stopped. Can someone give me a doc how to run BOINC on machines with proxy server access.. . |

The password it is looking found is found in the file:
----------------------------------------gui_rpc_auth.cfg The file is found in the BOINC folder, and will default to a long alpha-numeric string. You can use it, or change to what ever you want. In order for boincmgr or boinccmd to run you need boinc running. All these three programs should be found in the BOINC folder. |
