Hi both
I alter the General Prefs as Diana suggested the other day ( on the PC) and the 1970 date still came up : 25/10/2007 10:20:20||General prefs: from World Community Grid (last modified 1970-01-01 00:00:01) I have just done Sekerob suggested ( I hadnt altered the profile on the site at all) and it now reads: 26/10/2007 11:09:10||General prefs: from World Community Grid (last modified 2007-10-26 11:07:30) so that is good. I dont appear to be having the failure issues after Diana's alterantion from 60-100% but then again all the completed tasks are still awaiting validation - so watch this space ![]() Norman Look at this line : 24/10/2007 09:27:34||General prefs: from World Community Grid (last modified 1970-01-01 00:00:01) ![]() Diana, this is weird. Possibly its a default time of a preference set that was never altered. Suggest you go to the website and ensure the device is attached to the desired profile (Which?). Also for sake, if it's the default profile, open it, and alter something selecting 'custom profile and save, set the profile back to before the alteration and save again. That will ensure the settings get transmitted to the client on next contact. ci vediamo, a dopo |

I dont appear to be having the failure issues after Diana's alterantion from 60-100% but then again all the completed tasks are still awaiting validation - so watch this space ![]() Norman It's not important who told what, long as a resolution is found.... joint forces ![]() I don't like like the BOINC internal throttle, neither does WCG, nor do many technical people as 60% means here 3 second running, 2 second pause, which cause for many to kick the ventilators to go on and off and on etc. Further some sciences may not like it. They are very complex pieces of software. If on Windows XP/W2K, i recommend Threadmaster for a smooth 60% or any percent (got it on 90% so i can watch NASA TV without stutter in the images). We have an FAQ for that 3rd party piece of software in the Start Here forum. Hope it works out, and even at 100% BOINC will really only use the spare cycles, nothing more.

Suggest you walk thru the steps of the FAQ as the 1073741819 error has not changed, link provided in my earlier post http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/printpost?post=133975
----------------------------------------Make sure your OS is up to date and run some hardware tests like memtest86 to ascertain that part cannot be blamed.
