Wonder when u obtained 5.10.20, you took the direct install option from the internet or download first option. I do not remember clearly, I had 5.10.20 for awhile and forgot. But I think I took the "download the file and install it from my HDD" option, because I do it nearly everytime. I just for some reason do not like the direct install option. So I thought the BOINC.msi file should be in the archive I downloaded and that the install thing should extract it from there - I tried the install a few times continuously, that is the thing that bugs me - as if the file was not in the archive or something. I installed BOINC a few times here and one time to my gf's computer and never met the "no boinc.msi" problem. But never mind, my computer crunches HPF 2 right now, so as you said - let's not delve in the install problem anymore, not needed :) Thanks for all your advices :) ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Czech Zidane at Nov 11, 2007 10:24:23 PM] |

Tested all the projects (except of African Climate - I did not receive WUs even when I selected ONLY the African Climate and my computer meets the system requirements. Maybe no work available at the moment, never mind) - how long the computer crunches one WU, how much points the comp claims and how much is granted. And it seems the shorter the WU the better. I switched to DDDT few days ago (the WU are about 2-3 CPU hrs long) and the crunching seems to be in motion. The duration completion factor dropped from 2,1 to 1,5 so far and computer efficiency is over 0,91 too and still seems to be going up. Claimed/granted ratio is very good too. Seems the DDDT is suited for my system. Good to know, I will crunch this project :)
