WU deadlines

This morning I started to get DDDT WU's with due dates in 7 days instead of 9. Is this a permanent change? FA@H, HPF2, and HCC all still seem to have the 9 day deadline.

Re: WU deadlines

Calling all stations, maybe knreed or uplinger can confirm the lowdown on this.

Given the shortness, 7 days seems not a challenge. This project only returned 10 CPU years yesterday down from a daily 20 and higher last week and before, so maybe it's an effort to return some volume to DDDT.

HPF2 AFAIK still goes at 11 days and AC@H at 5 days.

I see a few of these also.

They are down 10 years/day because I have the other 10 years in Pending Validation. laughing biggrin laughing biggrin

I'm confused as to how shortening the days would improve anything (?) One would think it would just increase the PV's.
But as you say they are very small WU's and 7 days is not a challenge.

Re: WU deadlines

biggrin Saw you had some battle with BOINC logic.... no shorter deadlines reduces the overall pool of PV's and allows them to be pushed quicker into the Assimilator and File Deleter daemons. On the total complement of clients the 7 days gives these jobs a little bit of an edge over those with 9-11.

See FAQ: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=4925#89228

As i understand it, the scientist are pushing to get complete batches in their hands.... From my simpleton perspective, they need a body of work before their science validation can take place to be able to feed it into the next step.
