Hi. I have many machines where i can not do a full "install" of BOINC.
But what i can do is place de SS code under windows, and have it run as a screen saver at night. Is it possible? (Or maybe with UD?) |

Hi, are you the owner/admin of all those many machines?

The recommended solution here is to do a BOINC service install via Active Directory.
BOINC has a host of options for configuring how and when it does work. The screensaver runs independently, and displays information about the running BOINC client. Please ask if you need further information. |

I know and have installed the service.
But i can not install it on those machines. They have very limited RAM, and i only want it to run at night, as the SS. |

Another option could be to do a remote service install, where the service is MANUALLY started at night, and stopped at noon.
Would that consume any resources? (while stoped) |

Hello javierarce,
BOINCView ( http://boincview.amanheis.de/ ) should let you suspend and restart BOINC on remote computers. For that matter, BOINC 5.10 lets you set parameters to suspend it automatically if much else is being computed. Lawrence |

We can't install this type of programs in those machine like a regular user (First because its a really large number and second because it may affect them somehow and it would cause a really big problem if something happened) so, is there a way to make a portable boinc ?
