Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

My father inlaw's brother is a Father in Brazil. Went there in 1969. When he comes and visits he has the greatest stories about Brazil. I just joined this trek for awhile.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

I've finished my trek...

Giba, thanks for the kind words for those of us that crunch with EVGA... we are a small team but we try hard to help out when we can.

Tanner... You are one stellar human... thanks for all you do.

For all... this is paying it forward. Thank you all for helping for whatever team is your desire. One day we all... shall have an impact.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

And, would complete the history with a quote of little mermaid post in our team thread, with my special add: biggrin

Well, GIBA, I tried to say we're hungry in a gentle way.
I see no food, so I went out to find something that
looks Brazilian for the hardworking Base Campers:

- if you have something to add, please do
- we are omnivores tongue

Hey little mermaid, it appear that you know very well our preferences and favourites ...

There are plenty of colors, flavors, tastes, visuals, consistences, and delicous ways to deserve many of ours more know foods.

I guess that you bet very well choosing these pictures:

First: A high carb food as piece of resistence ! The nice picture show our very famous and traditional know "Brazilian FEIJOADA" (Brazilian black-beans, rice, with many herbs and a lot of smoked-dry pig meat pieces that's impossible translate the right name... with kingdon pepper, red onion, cloves of garlic, and many other fantastic spices), with spiced manioc flour, some portions of fried manioc, fried potatoes, cutted and fried cabbage, strong "malagueta" pepper sauce and so on...

Second: A light, refrescant and frozen deserve ! The nice picture show one of favourites deserves in Brazil... a colorful ice-creams, probable made from grapes, coconut and mango... appear have some increments in flavours and aromas, with a leave of "hortela" and small pieces of limon husks... very nice !

Third: A natiowide Brazilian heritage, with a lot of secrets receipts from north to south in Brazil... our famous "Caipirinha" drink ! (My special formula contain a lot of "Cachaca" from suggar cane, a quick flavour of cinamon, two spoons of honney from orange flowers, a little bit of suggar cane, a tinny slice of pinneaple, a lot of smashed Sicilian limon (I really prefer the same kind of Sicilian limon that is used to produce the famous Italian Limoncello drink...) and pure water ice cubes.

I would like to add something very delicious and very popular and internationally know around the world from our genuine cuisine:

The traditional "Gaucho" barbecue (made with the same care and manner that the folks from my state, Rio Grande do Sul, are acostumed to do each week in his homes) ! Enjoy it !

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

The video from Brazil is fascinating - I'm there already!!!
- and I love Brazilian food, my brain says!
It seems as if the gaucho barbeque easily equals the Texan one
- now I need to go vegetarian for the rest of June ....
Thank you for everything, GIBA and Team Brasil - Brazil@Grid cool

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Good Morning Base Campers!
Our Trek #37 to Brazil has been all we could wish for and then some.
You took part in a large number, and I wish to thank you for that.
Officially, the Trek is over, but as usual, you may want to linger
- and this time there's much to linger for
- a pretty country
- friendly people
- the beaches
- the music
and for those with a passion for this:
Soccer

We have four excellent badge suggestions, but you still have time to submit yours.
I suppose TLD will put up a vote by next Saturday, so you have plenty of time
to design your artwork with a height of 64 pixels containing the Trek #
as a .gif or .jpg file.

Thank you all for this overwhelming participation. I hope you enjoyed it
as much as I did.
After a summer break

I have something in mind. Maybe you have, too.
Remember, you're always welcome to post your ideas in The Igloo.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

We just might, GIBA
- maybe not all together in a Trek, but sometimes we drop by and
occupy the nest we once built with your team.
And the pleasure was all ours, Captain GIBA
