Is it possible to run bonic over xgrid? I have a multiple computer lab, iMac's G5's and C2D's and a few MacPro's. I have around 70Ghz of power and would love to be able to have this run over Xgrid. Has anyone done this before or have any ideas?
Thanks BTW: I do have permission to use this lab, My teacher is a Breast Cancer Survivor and thinks this is a great idea before and after school. |

Hello FenglerF1,
I ran a Google search for Xgrid over the BOINC website. The only mention was in a 2005 BOINC workshop note: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/workshop_notes.txt Xgrid was mentioned in 1 line: Plan for how industry might get involved??? - How does BOINC relate to XGrid, WCG, etc. So apparently there is not a current way to run Xgrid with BOINC. At least, none is mentioned. You might want to check out http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/SoftwareDevelopment yourself. Lawrence |

Is it possible to run bonic .... over Xgrid. Has anyone done this before or have any ideas? Seems the binaries are not compatable with x86 in the 2004-2005 range unless one recompiles from source. Information I found indicates that, the system had some bugs and now much development work has slowed down, see the Stanford site at: http://cmgm.stanford.edu/~cparnot/xgrid-stanford/index.html.... for latest and most current I could find. I personally would not use it in any current system (except testing) unless I have a large bottle of aspirin handy. ![]() Hope this helps. PaulT |
