Blizzie thinks we should get some challenges going when the new year comes around. The heat of competition pushes us to strive higher. ![]() I'm open to folks suggestions as to what you think we ought to go after next year. Keith -- I would like to see some membership gain. Both in recruiting new members to the team, and in increasing the number of members posting points each day. I wouldn't want to go overboard on numbers of new mwmbers -- we did that in the past and now have a ton of inactive members to show for it, but some growth would be nice. |

CONGRATULATIONS Alain Bryden ON REACHING 1,500,000 MOT POINTS!
----------------------------------------I’m back and see that our numbers are better after the dddt fiasco. Good job everyone! I had a lot of dddt’s error out. Seems to be back to normal now. Even the PV jail emptied out. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

And for the challenges, they should either be points wise or run time. I don't like results in my opinion, since I only crunch for Cancer and AIDS and other projects take less CPU time. |

Oops. I need to set that up for you. Did that routinely before we lost the old website. ![]() Here it is: http://dcstat.com/sig/3347.gif BTW: you have a very good chance of hitting half a million personal points tomorrow. Thank you, thank you! ![]() Edit: A million personal points? Don't you mean 500k? potato - potahto, tomato - tomahto, half a million - 500k ![]() No comment.......... I misread it like 5 times. ![]() Oh thank you!! It does an old fart's heart good when a young snot does that! There may be hope for me yet! ![]() |

Dave, great thoughts. Long-term, I'm incorporating that into my plans for the website so we can do some serious on-going recruiting to both MOT and WCG. In the meantime, I'd definitely like to see more members returning results each day. I think we need to wait to see what happens once UD is gone. The recent outage provides some hints about that and I think we'll see some big hits across the board with all the teams. So once we see what will be typical after that, we can set some goals. New members might be easier to track/count though active new members are preferable. Blizzie, I like the idea of one-on-one team challenges provided it's a fair match. We'd want to find a team that has about the same number of members returning results. A team of 30 active folks against one with 10 wouldn't be a fair contest but if you go for two equally situated teams, that would be perfect! It could be a double challenge too - points and runtime. You could win both, one or neither. Want to try to find some candidate teams? |

I like the idea of a team challenge, but I personally don't have anymore room for growth. Unless I start seriously overclocking, I'm not going to gain more results or runtime. I think we need to work on recruiting new members and encouraging existing but inactive members to start crunching again.
