Hi Folks,
Can anyone give me an idea as to how much longer DDD-T will be running on BOINC? Also, will there be a pretty constant workflow? Many thanks, JPC |

Target was 1 year from launch date in August '07, but that's i think from the optimistic department. Also a phase 2 is coming using a different science engine (CHARMM), to process the good stuff from the present phase one done (on AutoDock science engine). Change and update is automatic and for a while phase 1 and 2 might run in parallel.
----------------------------------------Flows are pretty constant, but keep that 'alternative work' option on as we are in transition from short to long units (likely launching today)

Sekerob,
Many thanks for the super-quick reply. Will the use of CHARMM mean that I will need to make any changes to my computer? BTW, I'm reluctant to keep the 'alternative work' option on as indicated in a recent post by myself on this forum. I recently ruled out HCC and switched to HPF - only to receive a WU yesterday for HPF requiring 50 hours' work to completion in 18 days. That's a tall order for me so I'll have to abort that one and wait until the next DDD-T WU comes my way. JPC |

It's all automatically updated.
----------------------------------------Don't worry about the times. The predicted durations are confused atm. Got a bunch of FAAH in the queue with 24 hours estimate, but one by one the finish in 6 hours. The HPF2 estimated times seem to have stabilized now, server side, but clients may still be confused until enough work has been processed of the new lengths. Predicted and actual times are now within margin on several machines. The quad needs from 6 to 9 hours for the present series. The 18 days was done intentional to even give the slowest PCs a chance. Given that work progress saves at each step, you can shutdown the computer and continue at a relatively slow pace. I really like them long ones, because they come in with 850 and more WCG points per job (BOINC credits x 7).
