I got the new FAAH4000_ALP assignment with FAAH 6.03 around lunchtime yesterday. And it started working on it last night. To my surprise, when I checked it last night and this morning, it is taking longer than normal.
----------------------------------------It is still crunching after almost 10 hours and not quite 2/3rd done. I suspect it will take a total of around 15 hours at this pace. My previous FAAH assignment completes in between 5 and 7 hours. Will this be normal? Interesting to note: I happen to have HPF2 also running which started more than an hour later on the same computer and is already 75% complete and should be done well before the FAAH is done at the rate they are going. The one I got took 13.54 hours - considerably longer than FAAH used to take

Hi Yes mine took about twice the time to complete. Project Name: FightAIDS@Home Created: 04/22/2008 17:21:08 Name: faah4002_ALP007223aPDF_min_xmd05700_01 Minimum Quorum: 2 Initial Replication: 2 Result Name Status Sent Time Time Due / Return Time CPU Time (hours) Claimed/ Granted BOINC Credit faah4002_ ALP007223aPDF_ min_ xmd05700_ 01_ 0-- In Progress 04/22/2008 23:05:18 05/02/2008 23:05:18 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 faah4002_ ALP007223aPDF_ min_ xmd05700_ 01_ 1-- Pending Validation 04/22/2008 22:59:18 04/23/2008 08:47:30 9.76 164.0 / 0.0 Normally about 4-41/2 hours. And I guess because they are new.. come with a health warning on completion [Quote]WARNING: No benchmark data to run! ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Apr 23, 2008 1:30:33 PM] |

Same here...
This is the first one of the 6.03 Version: faah4000_ ALP007223a_ min_ xmd07910_ 00_ 2-- Pending Validation 04/22/2008 15:39:26 04/23/2008 13:49:49 10.15 182.3 / 0.0 And this is the last one of the old 5.x version: faah3442_ ZINC01603933_ xMut_ md02400_ 00_ 0-- Valid 04/15/2008 14:08:34 04/16/2008 23:37:05 5.53 100.5 / 95.6 So it takes twice the time for a calculation... Is there more information beeing calculated in the new version? If not, what is the reason for the longer calculation time? |

Looking at the version number 6.03, I venture to think it's the identical as the one beta tested.
----------------------------------------Having done a few on the UD agent, they appear to be equal or faster, but it's always possible that a new test series was started. The few I have in queue carries 4000+4015 as batch numbers. Can't check though what experiment this is as the Scripps/Olson/FA@H site is timing out again. Anyway, tomorrow morning check into the project stats page to see what the averages are for Yesterday. Usually on a restart will the fast machines deliver first so the initial average run time per job will creep up for the next week. As reference, the April 22 average was 7.12 hours per FA@H job. AND, long as the credits per hour remain in ballpark with the old release, one simply has to say: They're tougher. ears to the ground and eye open ![]() [Edit: The FightAIDS"Home site was just updated: 4000-4069 belong to experiment 19 and 4070-4201 to experiment 19a]

On the quads the time has doubled from 4-5 hours to 8-10 hours. P4 duo's are at 20 hours. and my P4 single at 21 hours. They are approaching the time it takes to do an Einstein WU. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

So the FA@H status site is back up. Experiment 18 ended on batch 3702, so presume 4015 belongs to a new one, be it 19 or 20 (see this post http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=18897#156064 .

DM, [service message] A matter of improved readability of a support thread, lest there is some fear of someone hotwiring posts: You don't need to quote a post if yours are following right below.... hitting the reply button works as well and help to reduce the ache from thumbing my mouse wheel on these fora[/service message] Now on topic: Whoa Nelly: This 4015 did 4.4% in 38 minutes....extrapolated it will be 14.4 hours.... hope its speeds up or will be needing some supercooled CPU power to eat through these (mitigating... its on my crawler quad using Redmond OS of the far viewing type). I would suggest you put a bandage on the finger, Sek. Speaking of fingers, until they get this sorted, the easiest solution for me was to opt out of the project, kill the 32 queued and running WU's (someone else can have the pleasure of doing them) and move on to other projects. ![]() ![]() |

Yep, you always were my favorite back-packer.
----------------------------------------![]() There's talk about *issues* without even knowing if it just pure toughness for all, with the credits to go with it. Remember, the base claim is run time hours multiplied by hourly claim per last host benchmark.
