It's exciting at first but then it gets old and boring. I would respectfully disagree. Retirement gets better and better like fine wine. One has time for those things once neglected. A very nice day today for me. Good food, good wine and good company in great weather. Life is good and it just keeps working out. Good day MOT Total points returned today: 248,819 Look out estaban69 ... I’m on your “donkey”. Yep, Gerald and I currently switch views of the "lead dog". But I will never match his contribution. Cheers MOT. |

So I did an interesting benchmarking test of the NVIDIA 8800 GT 512 edition. Interestingly enough, with WCG running at 100%, bit torrent online and running 8 torrents, and an antivirus/firewall all running simultanteously, BIOSHOCK, apparently the system breaker FPS (first person shooter) runs astonishingly well at max graphics. I'm not feeling any frame lag or glitches at all. That's a strong endorsement for the quad core processor plus a pretty inexpensive and now mid-level graphics card.

What did you pay for this setup? laptop or desktop? Dr. Mike.. |

What did you pay for this setup? laptop or desktop? Dr. Mike.. It's a desktop. Forgot how much he paid for it. I have to turn of WCG when playing games.. It lags and kills my framerates for some reason. WCG won't step down enough to allow the CPU to fully run the game. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 31, 2008 5:33:21 PM] |

And these days, building the same pc would probably be at least $200 less. It also has some other features you might not need were you to build one for yourself: 500 gigs of storage Asus p5k premium motherboard (on Blizzie's recommendation!) 1 dvdr drive 1 dvd drive 6 case fans HUGE Thermaltake V1 heatsink/fan 5.1 surround sound logitech speaker system [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 31, 2008 6:22:26 PM] |

I installed BOINC 6.2.14 on the quads and C2D today. No problem with the installations and all are running fine. It does elimate the UAC problem. BOINC will now start with UAC turned on in Vista. I have not done the P4's.
