Boinc continues development [Resolved]

Noticed the following post in Boincstats

2008-12-11: GPUGRID - Suggested BOINC version is now 6.4.5
Please upgrade to version 6.4.5 to have a correct estimation of elapsed time.

Interesting to see both that Boinc is actively developing as well as the specific reason for the suggest upgrade. Are the problems we have seem regarding estimates simply a function of the rDCF or is it also Boinc?

Re: Boinc continues development

The problems mentioned at GPUGRID are all new bugs introduced by the CUDA features.

Clearly, they are some way from success, still.

Again, we very, very strongly recommend steering clear of the 6.4 line, even if Berkeley do decide to recommend it. We still haven't worked the kinks out of 6.2.

I'm not speaking officially here, but I can see no reason why World Community Grid should adopt 6.4. I expect them to skip it and devote time to the future 6.6 instead.
