Hi

I'm getting the following BOINC error "Output file E000030_709A_00042600d_0_2 for task E000030_709A_00042600d_0 absent" running 6.2.28 on Thinkpad T43 1.86Ghz.

Previous task for CEP went fine running for 71hrs but after that i received the same error twice within 1hr.

i think, it's got something to do with memory mgmt which either XP or the BOINC client isn't doing right, please help me fix this.

Hi Aman,

Dont know at moment what the cause is. Suggest booting and checking your security software logs.

We've seen this error on another project when it started, and it was fixed.

Just reported 3 E000030 jobs, 2 logs clean, 1 having an error also now reported a number of times.

This job ran 2 hours shorter than the other 2, and that is also consistent with other reports of these jobs with this error. They validate according confirmations on the forum.

Hi Sekerob

after the error, i increased the pagefile size to 2GB and the new CEP job has been running fine till now, another day to go for completion.

will wait and see......fingers crossed, however i feel there is something buggy either with the client OR the job.

Ha, that's an interesting one. Not seen it myself but someone posted observing virtual memory use of 900mb for a job. On a quad that could add up to allot. Something worth monitoring and questioning when other reports come to the forum.

[Added: I've got the Swapfile set to a minimum of 1.5 times RAM, but free to expand. The minimum size helps a bit to reduce the VM fragmentation.]
