It happens with all sub-projects from time to time. If you want to keep doing WCG but with emphasis on one or more projects, select the ones you want but also select the allow work from other projects ...

THere was also a note in another thread that Rice was generating data so fast that it was out-striping the storage capacity of the project ... so that could be another reason ... or it could just be that it is Tuesday ... :)

Re: No work available message.

I've been starting to get them since about 5am this morning. Oh well, I have a small queue to work through. Hopefully some will be available in the next 2 days. sad

sad Re: No work available message.

Typical... I've now got some work - although it's gone to a machine that I'm attempting to run down (I've got to hand it back to my employer on Thursday - with all the data wiped). Unfortunately, it's a CEP, lasting 30 hours!!!, so, much as I hate to do it, I'm going to have to terminate it sad

Re: No work available message.

BOINC has a "No new tasks" button. Use it if you need it.

I expect we will frequently see the queues run dry or the database drop out over the next couple of days. Low work availability, plus extra processes being run by the techs will put unusual pressure on the servers.

Re: No work available message.

If there was a way where I could guarantee receiving a work unit of less than 12 hours, I'd run it - although what do I receive, 30 hours!!!!

Oh well, I'll just start decommissioning that machine earlier than I'd planned...

I'm pretty sure this project has a hard stop at 10 hours. Also, running this project and switching to others can cause their numbers to get messed up. HCC WUs that take me 8ish hours were marked at 35 hours at first
