Re: THE EDWARDIANS - WHY NOT JOIN US AS THE QUEST CONTINUES -

Ted, I know I am not exactly a computer whizz-kid, but have you cleared your computer out of the'old' stuff, etc., etc.? That does help and I know it is a bit time-consuming but that can make your computer slow. For instance, I must have hundreds of emails that still lurk on my machine, just in case I might want to look at them again! blushing devilish

I am not a fan of Facebook - I do have to use it to communicate with one set of friends I have but I do not find it at all 'user' friendly. sad

Btw, lovely sun here today! biggrin

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - WHY NOT JOIN US AS THE QUEST CONTINUES -

morning all
okay its after 12 so 'arternoon smile
This morning the Car had flat on rear .................
Following its visit to the Garage when they the removed wheels to get at the inards.
Getting it back I had failed to check How tight they had spun the wheel nuts up sad
I couldnt budge them even with an extended wheel brace that I have
so I called the RAC out feeling rather feeble at having to do this
The guy was on the case within ten mins and didnt laugh at my failings. He had to agree even with his extra long implement they were a "Tough Nut" to crack (sorry about That) biggrin
crying Anyway away to the tire/Tyre shop for new Avons all round, crying I couldnt even rotate the spare into use its one of those silly mickey mouse space saver thingys will never wear out will perish in the boot .I dont know what to do with the space I'm saving with it as the spare tyre well is large enough for the regular wheel to fit when you have changed it ..............?

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - WHY NOT JOIN US AS THE QUEST CONTINUES -

Good morning everyone smile

Belated birthday wishes Hanski, hope you and yours have a great weekend and feel better soon.

Thanks for posting the outage info JP, I finally got my network issues worked out and only have 2 more machines to debug (they won't get online for some reason) all other machines on thier networks are connecting, just one on each network wants to be a pain angry
Still that beats the dial-up connection I had to resort to while I was fixing the network (lucky for me NetZero has a free dial-up which I made full use of).

In response to our team member (family) size.
I for one will not be leaving the team for the simple reason of it's "family" feel.
After GRID went under, I didn't know what to devote my time to, I tried SETI but just wasn't as satisfied. Then JP emailed me and invited me to join The Edwardians at WCG. Of all the people I chatted with and emailed occasionally on GRID, JP is the only one to email me post-GRID.
I really like the family feel of The Edwardians, even though I know I'll probably never meet anyone face to face, and sometimes I don't always know what some of you are talking about (the difference between English and American language) but I do still enjoy the conversation.
Some teams only care about getting members so they can be #1. That's nice but some things are more important, like caring about each other. We may not be #1 in stats but we're certainly #1 in heart, and to me that makes us the best team available. Maybe someday the heavy hitters we lost will realize this and return home. In the meantime, we'll keep right on crunching and our persistance will endure.

hugs hugs hugs hugs hugs hugs Group hug for Team Edwardians hugs hugs hugs hugs hugs hugs

Y'all have a great weekend. smile

Evening all

Nice words apartsman and I fully endorse them. I was lost when migrating after the demise of GridOrg but immediately found this natural home and then found some of them I knew from previous GridOrg picnics.
