Morning all smile ...... If everything is digitally stored all is vertually Lorst ....
biggrin

....except that I spend an average of about 4 hours per day transcribing into Word, handwritten/typewritten War Diaries and Regimental Histories from First World war up to Second World wars. This means they will not be lost due to the old paper crumbling and they can also be digitally searched so the Family History buffs can find out, maybe, what 'appened to Private Atkins etc.

All this on behalf of the Tank Museum at Bovington for the Royal Armoured Corps regiments..... biggrin

Yes Alan A worthy task and more power to your elbow ensuring that these precious documents are not lost due to ageing paper and fading ink .
Its the initial recording digitally of items with no hard paper copy that I'm opposed to. Items relating to personal events such as Photographs soon to be entirely Digital.
I have for instance the bill from the Undertakers concerning the burial of my grandparents hand written in ink not typed on a word processor, when I buried my Mother in the same plot some 60 years later I took this document to the funeral Directors the chap was the son of the original undertaker .
so that was a nice connection wouldnt happen now

phew glad thats sorted Merle returning a result
Onwards and upwards biggrin

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!! Merle returned a result! biggrin

It is great to think of the excitement I cause just by letting my 'puter get on with it and return 'measly' little 'one at a time' results!! wink smile devilish One day I might get nearer to catching you all up!

In the meantime, because I had the audacity to make a (polite) 'phone call to my TV supplier to let them know I had not received any TV programmes at all since last Friday, I subjected myself to unbelievable rudeness, so tomorrow I shall be looking for another TV supplier!! And I bet that will turn out to be yet another trauma!!

It's a wonder I sleep at nights really! sad crying

"About 390,000 people listed their religion as Jedi in the 2001 Census for England and Wales. In Scotland the figure was a reported 14,000."

It's nice to see the police joining in too biggrin http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgow_and_west/8003067.stm

Re: .

Evening all

A quiet day in here so I hope you've all been doing something useful.

Having nothing but free television, I have no problems with delivery and more than enough rubbish to keep me satisfied. Rented DVDs provide the advert free films and, for the rest, it's BBC for news and most documentaries.

I suppose, Newsnight is my most watched programme but I may get hooked on Formula 1 when it starts at the end of this month.
