I have recently upgraded all my systems to BOINC 6.4.7 and all are running well except 1 system. It is running XP with SP 3. The WUs for HFCC come in with very long 'Time to Completion' (90 hours), they run for about 20-25 hours and then complete with various errors. They PC itself is running other normal work successfully, and does not seem to have any problems. Any suggestions please.

We don't recommend BOINC 6.4.7.
What are the exact errors? There are some malformed workunits for HFCC, but as far as I know, the bad tasks fail immediately. |

----------------------------------------In your shoes, I'd do a project reset and a system boot and look through the OS event and security logs. There's no rhyme or reason , but if your last good result coincides with the 6.4.7. install you know something went wrong then. Maybe it's permissions. Anyway, we recommend still for Windows to fetch version 6.2.28 and install as protected/service, with all user option selected. If you also can post, before resetting the client and booting, the client message log from start. Then we can look at your client configuration. ttyl

The file is invalid, so a project reset may fix it, as Sekerob suggests.
The most likely underlying cause, however, is likely to be an over-aggressive web filter or security application (i.e. the same thing may happen again). If you can, create an exclusion for downloads from grid.worldcommunitygrid.org and secure.worldcommunitygrid.org |

Very surprising that 6.4.7 allowed the Data_dir to be a sub of the BOINC directory where the core client software probably is. Advise to reinstall and change the data dir option to the defaults, protected area. On XP I've made it D:\Mydata\BOINCdata. Application data have no business in the C:\Program Files\ structure. That's always been wrong from the beginning of BOINC days.

After reboot and reset, the first task has come in and is running with an estimated completion time of 7 hours. Looks good.

Well after running all night for some 5h 30m, time to completion is now 9h 30m. Very strange as I have had vaild results from 6.4.7 on this PC. Well, I will download 6.2.19 and re-install in this PC.
