Project URL List?

Hi, is there somewhere I can get a list of URLs for all the projects available in the WCG?

I can never find the right info on the project home pages and often end up giving up.

Apologies if this has already been answered somewhere else, I did search though :)

Thanks.

Re: Project URL List?

Hit the Research button left top and look in the left margin. All projects sorted by active, inactive, completed. Each folding out into further main chapters.

Re: Project URL List?

Hi, Thanks for your reply.

This seems to only show general project information and of course the project's website etc.

But for the actual project URL's that we need to put in to connect to a project on our desktop software, this I am having trouble finding. Sometimes the websites home page works, sometimes not.

Cheers.

Re: Project URL List?

That was my second thought. No, you only need to pick/attach to WCG in the BOINC client. On My Grid > My Projects you choose which you want to participate in, All or a selection.

Re: Project URL List?

Ok, and then I can assume my client will attach itself to the project?
How long does this generally take?

Thanks.

Re: Project URL List?

Hi,

I found this, http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Project_list
It seems to be what I was after, to manually attach to projects.

It is obviously not updated as soon as new projects come in, but good enough.

Cheers

Immediate. As soon as BOINC has room to fetch more work it will from WCG projects of choice.

In BOINC (advanced view) on the tools menu you only need to take the "attach to project" link and choose http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org

Added: possibly you're using a gui-less client using the command line, so in that case, the link here posted is the one to use.

Just to be clear, that is a list of projects that run on BOINC not WCG projects as your original question indicates.

Cheers.

It is a list of *some* projects that run on BOINC (in addition to WCG).

Google for "Boinc projects" to find more. Several of the BOINC statistics sites and large team sites have more, and there may be a blog of recent updates. Many projects are small, and never get running, or come and go. I personally have played with over 70 of them, but usually only once per year to see what's out there.

This is another general purpose list.
