Some more stats and a new badge

Hi everybody,

I don't know if this has already been asked but i think it would be great to have statistics on how many gold, silver and bronze badges on each project.
May be one specific page for that or just add it in the statistics page for each project like statistic page for hfcc

A second thing, bronze, silver, gold and after nothing.
What about a super badge like a diamond badge for one year crunch on a project ?
This could help to motivate some members to keep crunching.

Personally, i don't care about badges except for the fun but i keep crunching anyway but some members like badges and it is important for them.

Re: Some more stats and a new badge

All of this has been commented one way or the other, counts, more extensions, colours, rings, fringes, numbers, symbols you name it. Even the techs have inserted posts on what they are looking at and what they might take into consideration when the time comes and that's not now. Heck, we've not seen a newsletter in 6 months so I suppose the crew is in full stretch mode... I'd much prefer newsletters in regularity for that is something I can pass around to sell WCG to those not yet participating and keep others connected who run 'set and forget' which is 90% of the members, the fastest majority.

Re: Some more stats and a new badge

It would be more intresting if we know the status of the projects.

For example: 30% of the task available are done.

So maybe projects that have 10% or less people will get interested to donate all their time to that project to be finished.

Re: Some more stats and a new badge

There's a pie chart in the start here forum doing a loose estimate of the project progress. Eventually, it's each project science team to sell their's with updates and news and maintain their progress page. WCG is working on something to make the information available in condensed form. For that see past discussions on the forum and posts by WCG techs.

Re: Some more stats and a new badge

What I would like to see in the statistics is a list of members who got a gold medal for every project, so 13 gold medals (or 12 if the beta 'project' is excluded). I was wondering how many (if any?) members have achieved that.

Re: Some more stats and a new badge

A list of members with who got what is not likely to ever happen. Badges were designed to show off by the member e.g. at the forum, not to be shown off. You can though extract badges through running an analysis of using xml. Some team stat compilers are already doing that.

An option in/out for the forum displaying of the badges or primary project were proposed too.

And there is one contributor we know has the gold for the first 10 projects and beta. We respect that this person has never posted, thus shall not be named.

Re: Some more stats and a new badge

Alright, I can see your point why there's no list of who's got the most gold badges.

I'm somewhat surprised though that apparently not a single member has achieved the perfect 13 gold badges (yet)! Of course this can only be done by those who have already got a gold for all retired projects.

Anyway Sekerob, I see you are awfully close yourself. Nice work! Too bad for that silver on Genome Comparison.

There is only one who can. And apparently s/he does not care, otherwise there would already be at least one or two bronze with the famous eleven gold, which is not the case right now.
Therefore, currently, members with 12 gold and one silver are the kings of Badgeland. smile

Cheers. Jean.
