Our neighborhood covenants prohibit clothes lines, but we are allowed to have solar panels now thanks to a law the Colorado legislature passed in 2006.

How come?
Do people feel they are unsightly? - but still travel to Sevilla and Napoli to look at the picturesque clotheslines traversing the streets there? Solar panels are fine, but they don't dry clothes. The investment is considerable; maintenance should be small, tho. Clotheslines are very fine: Small investment, no expenses at all when running and low maintenance. And let's face it: One of the big electricity guzzlers in our homes is a dryer. We humans are a funny breed - we shall rather be judgemental on taste and discuss highbrow global warming than put up a simple clothesline ... ![]() |
