H1N1 research

Has anyone from WCG actively offered to help on current H1N1 virus research? Perhaps through the CDC? It seems that this would be a way to showcase WCG capabilities to help solve a time critical problem; I assume they are trying to get a vaccine prior to next flu season.

Re: H1N1 research

If it were something unknown as a virus, but it is not, but who knows what WCG is up to.

Developing flu vaccines is in fact a routine matter as you know, a new version prepared each year for the most probably strains the virus will mutate into, usually ready before the next inoculation cycle on the Northern Hemisphere in say October. Vaccines for this H1N1 are thought to be available by June 2009 (so next month).
