Yesterday we together kept the World Community Grid going for 7 days at over 300 Teraflops of sustained mean crunching... 300.2 TFL to be precise.
----------------------------------------Another mid-milestone was 275,000,000 results validated overall. The 300 million, thanks to the Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy, Phase 2 shorties is closing in rapidly... on or before July 22, 2009. Thus doing 12.5 million results per month. Hands together for the team as 3 days in a row over 400,000 results returned is an awesome job. Watch that green line approaching the next hurdle... the 21 day mean TFLops crossing into 300 TFL. ![]()

Here to stay, 21 days sustained 300 TFL crunching has been nearly achieved and records archived daily. This includes 6 results from The Clean Energy Project reported with mean of 51.6 hours CPU time... persistence is the name of this serious game.

These numbers are truly amazing and both inspire me to contribute as much as I can and also humble me to realize what a small part I actually play. What is most remarkable is when you think of all the different groups and individuals that have come together in a common cause and to make this all possible. I hope it is sooner rather than later that the world beyond those who are involved acknowledge not only the achievements in science but also that the common goodwill of hundreds of thousands is not only possible but achievable and quite powerful.

Welcome To The Machine for all 1521 new members who joined WCG in the past 7 days. Last week The WCGrid ran a daily mean of 303 TFL , record on record and the 21 day value is just, just short of the 300 TFL technical resistance point, to be precise @ 299.834602 TFL.

Yes, that's 3 cores equivalent at 24/7. Thanks for bringing these to WCG.
----------------------------------------As for the 300 Teraflops... Fatto we say here. Yesterday that 21 day notch was placed in the WCG book of big milestones, exactly 300.245942 TFL. Here's how the collective resources have been shared in the past few months, this weekend the lion's share going to FightAIDS@Home, just by a nose length. Crunch On, and spread the word for resistance is futile. We will be the Vincitori. edit: updated chart link

This Machine is also completing results at an impressive rate. Lately it's been doing more than 4.5 results every second. That means while you take two minutes to brush your teeth, The Machine has completed at least 540 tasks - tasks which search for cures to terrible diseases or help solve other problems facing the world today. And the newcomers are helping push that number achingly close to 5 results per second.
I imagine hidden deep away at The Centre for Past Records Control is a graph where specialists are monitoring this situation closely. |

Actually, I'll have to refer you to The Centre of Future Record Prediction. 5 per second is imminent, if no cure is found in time
