2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

The 2010 FIFA World Cup has been talked about, debated and speculated on for so many years. And now, with one year to go to the tournament's kickoff, finally it's a given, an accepted reality".
These are the emotional words of the Chief Executive Officer of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee (OC), Dr Danny Jordaan on a day that marks exactly one year until proud home team, Bafana Bafana run out onto the Soccer City pitch for the opening game of 2010.
For Jordaan the hard work is now starting to pay off...

Spain 0-2 USA shock smile

USA caused one of the biggest surprises in Confederations Cup history by beating European champions Spain to reach Sunday's final.
Jozy Altidore scored the opener when he turned his marker Joan Capdevila to fire in from 15 yards.
Fulham's Clint Dempsey doubled the lead in the second half when he converted Landon Donovan's pass from close range.
Tim Howard saved from Fernando Torres and Cesc Fabregas before USA's Michael Bradley saw red for a foul on Xavi.
Many would have predicted Spain to win this match with a lot to spare, judging by the ease with which they won their group games..

USA-Brazil preview

Sixty thousand-plus enthusiasts will descend on Ellis Park tomorrow. Some will be there in support of USA, some Brazil, while others, neutrals, will be there simply to revel in a charming, infectious atmosphere, to blow their vuvuzelas and enjoy what promises to be a fitting conclusion to a memorable FIFA Confederations Cup.
After 90 minutes - or perhaps extra time or penalties - either a new name will be inscribed on the trophy, or Brazil will surpass France and become the outright record winners of the competition.

The match

Ellis Park, Johannesburg, 28 June, 20:30 (local time)

Now to wait biggrin
