Re: New Help Conquer Cancer Badges

I have let my computers run the Help Conquer Cancer Project since it was launched 3 years ago. During almost the past 3 years, some errors have happened when my computers computed some of the Help Conquer Cancer Project workunits. My computer just got a workunit of the Help Conquer Cancer Project this evening. If this Help Conquer Cancer Project workunit can be completed and validated in a few days, I will get the second Bronze Level Badge of World Community Grid as the Help Conquer Cancer Project! biggrin
Besides, I will upgrage my current computer and buy another new one for my father in a few days or weeks later. So I will let my computer no more new work on all BOINC projects (including World Community Grid) until my current computer is completely upgraded and running smoothly. Afterwards, I will install BOINC manager in both new computers and let them run some of BOINC projects (including World Community Grid). The CPUs of these new computers will run much faster then my current computer, and they can afford more BOINC workunits. smile

Out of topic, but I can't resist to invite you for that...

Fist of all, congratulations for yours strongs contributions for so many BOINC projects. It is impressive and probably costs a lot of time and resoruces from your side to established this numbers. Very well done !

Second of all, my sincere apologize in advance by my intromission in try explore better for WCG an additional share of your personal characteristic observed in your signature here that is contribute for many BOINC projects (that is the same case for many crunchers in WCG and in this thread, for example !).

So, when I saw yours strongs contributions for so many BOINC projects around the World, I think that will be great if I try invite and incentivate you to dedicate a little bit more crunch time to help WCG projects, specially maybe HCCancer and HFCCancer which probably will be yours favourites.

Any contribution ever will be important, but when saw that you choose HCCancer 3 years ago to crunch, and until now don't have a 14 days of work completed to get the bronze badge for this project, just think that you are sahring so much yours computation resources with so many projects that each one just received a small bit of your donation time to BOINC projects.

About 6 years ago I used crunch for so many projects of grid computing like you, but since that time, choose just WCG to concetrate my efforts and I would like to mention that many of my issues related with lost of time, machines problems, and so on, just was finished once with WCG I found a strong and robust platform with support and security investment to crunch with minor problems diring years. Additionally for security reasons, WCG appear for me since that time, the best project to be crunched. And so on...

Will be hard share less resoruces with some projects not so relevant for Health for instance, but will be great if you can decides share a little bit more with WCG and get at least the actual projects badges (if you put focus on and have a little bit of dluck besides, could get 8 bronze badges in at most 4 months of crunch time dedication to WCG, at least !).

Up to you decides, once it is once a suggestion but I need try incentivate you on that !

Good luck, and have a nice crunch times with BOINC projects and specially with WCG projects. Have a nice day ! biggrin wink cool ideaapplause hugs good luck

Well, I have really let my computers crunch some BOINC projects which I am interested in as long as they have great scientific meanings, especially in natural science. And when I let my computers run some BOINC projects (including World Community Grid), I must take account of some things: First, if the system devices of my computers can correspond to the requirements of each BOINC project. Second, when my computers get some workunits of BOINC projects, can they afford them and complete in time without error while computing. Third, if the BOINC project website and its workunits flow are stable that worths me to join this project. Therefore, if the errors happened too many times while my computers downloading or computing some of workunits on certain projects, I would not let them run these projects again to waste time and resource, unless the requirements of my computers can afford such workunits of these projects or the errors can be solved. I think that World Community Grid is a stable and good BOINC project, and even if my computers compute error on some workunits of certain subproject of World Community Grid, I would join other subproject of World Community Grid as long as my computers can afford and run. Now I gratefully thank for your suggestion and invitation that you want me to let my computers run World Community Grid for more portion of resources as my computers are running BOINC projects! love struck

Re: New Help Conquer Cancer Badges

I just got the second Bronze Level Badge of World Community Grid as the Help Conquer Cancer Project a few days ago! And the next goal is to get the Sliver Level Badge for both Help Conquer Cancer and FightAIDS@home subrojects of World Community Grid, if they can last long enough. biggrin So the other subprojects like Human Proteome Folding - Phase 2 and Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy - Phase 2, I hope that I can get the Bronze Level Badge for these subprojects of World Community Grid in a few weeks or months later!
