Re: FA@H Project Badge Recognition thread

I would agree with your thinking anhhai if this trustworthy test were per core but I have always thought of it as per rig where this might take less than an hour for some due to the short wu's here.

I make a point of starting with 0.1days cache so worst case is 2.4 hours in your scenario

I think

Re: FA@H Project Badge Recognition thread

Oldchap,

You are correct, it is per machine. The problem is that the WU has to be verified by another machine. So until other machines verified 20 WUs then all you work is not really helping along with any WU already in your queue.

Re: FA@H Project Badge Recognition thread

I guess you have a point but I notice that when, in the past, I have switched back to my account I do not get a new installation, it recognises my rig from before. I was hoping that the rig is recognised as verified reliable wherever it goes.

A somewhat technical point for those with more knowledge than I for sure.

If you are correct then we must hope for fast wingmen

Mamajuanauk :

Don't know if you helping me or not but me or another one is great from all of you with many many cores. We all crunching for the same goal, achieving something great for mankind and there is also this great and friendship collaboration, always crunching but giving his cpu cycles to another one close to get his badge.

Very noble and chivalrous. Thank you.

I'm on intel i860 HT. 4 cores and 4 logical cores. I can do something around 4 days of work per day, maybe a bit more.

Have you limited the usage of cores in boincmanager?
The i860 should have a output of 8 days of work per day.

No i didn't touched anything, I'm 100% everywhere. I'm Under Windows 8.1 and always do a ctrl+tab to open the task manager to see how many ram and CPU cycle I'm using.

But this machine is also my family machine, I'm not playing game on it but I have internet explorer, Firefox, a antivirus, this or that, all this stuff use cpu cycles. But even at the very beginning, when my machine was new, I installed boinc immediately on it, I was doing 7 days maximum, mainly 6 days. 5 years later, I'm running 4 days when looking on my stats. Some crap and dust. I'm waiting for intel skylake at the ned of the year and Windows 10 to change everything and get a new fresh start.

There is just one thing I noticed, it is in the Tools > Computing préférences

- While processor usage is less than XX percent.

XX was at 50. It means if processor usage is above 50%, boinc stops. I put it right now at 70. I'll have a look if this is better.

Domdom95: I cannot see how many cores are running for you unless you go to the same page as your weak key and a bit below check the "show hosts" box.

currently thinking that if I put 36 on with Domdom, 64/80 on with Tom and you Mamaj throw everything at msxfr for his Sapphire maybe ?

Any other Ideas?

The box is checked now. I don't know how you can see all that information about me? Interesting, do you have a link? I always look my stats on the general tab "my contribution" but maybe there is a more detailed link?

Thank you very much OldChap !!

Re: FA@H Project Badge Recognition thread

Dom: After the next update the go to http://boincstats.com/en/stats/15/user/detail/289997/overview and the entry for number of hosts will change. Clicking on that should allow you to see the rigs running.

Similar story at http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=user&proj=bwcg&name=289997 but here you just scroll down

Make that usage % 100 for a few days then drop back to 75% if you encounter difficulties using other programs. You might be ok because Boinc is using a low priority

Re: FA@H Project Badge Recognition thread

Hi, Tom, had a power outage here and lost half of the day :(

Would be nice if someone help us to make Tom's diamond happen.

Thanks Joerg

I'll push 8 cores his way.

And still have 6 cores going to msxfr.

Cheers :)
