Re: Stats sanity check

I don't see any evidence of scores doubling at all ?? Can you point me to where you think this is happening. Screenshots perhaps ?

Here it is. Actually, we do more than 30,000 Total Credit a day.

Over 63,000? Can you imagine how many of the old UD points that would be? Quite a bit! biggrin

I wish it were true. wink

Looking only on the last 24-hour-stats doesn't really tell much, since there's many reasons for the stats being "low" or "high" for a particular day. Better is to look on the production for multiple days, http://stats.kwsn.net/team_history.php?proj=wcg&teamid=5567

From these, it looks like your team is averaging roughly 40k per day, and for the last week has produced:
41,891
41,894
44,027
21,945
65,407
22,631
63,690

Clearly, one day only 1/2 a days production has shown-up on the stats, and for the next update 3/2 days production has shown-up on the stats. Such variations is completely normal to see, and can happen for many reasons.

That does not compute really. Maybe it's a Boinc "thing" or a UD points thing:

Our last 7 days whilst using the WCG UD points.

8/8/09 0:106:17:12:29 288,122 471
8/7/09 0:109:03:54:32 294,481 482
8/6/09 0:118:19:53:31 312,332 517
8/5/09 0:110:10:56:41 302,289 499
8/4/09 0:108:08:18:28 295,762 493
8/3/09 0:113:12:16:22 314,065 517
8/2/09 0:114:13:48:28 301,366 487

I am confused (like others). I just hope that IBM will convert the old UD point system to the Boinc Total Credits.

Oh well, happy crunching, all! biggrin

Re: Stats sanity check

According to your team stats history in WCG and to your team page in this other 3rd party stats site it's visible that nothing wrong has happened in your daily stats, either inside WCG or in the files that they provide to external sites. Simply (as Bok explained) that some update files may have been moving to the next day for reasons proper to his site's procedures.

The fact that totals are expressed in WCG points or in Boinc credits is irrelevant in that case, same as expressing distances between cities in miles, nautical miles or kilometers does not make them more or less close.

Cheers. Jean.

Re: Stats sanity check

That does not compute really. Maybe it's a Boinc "thing" or a UD points thing:

The web-side-stats of things and the BOINC stats-exports doesn't need to be similar, AFAIK the BOINC-stats is still exported 4 times a day while the web-stats is only run 2 times a day.

While BOINC can happily generate the stats while database also gives out new work and so on, the web-stats is offline for whatever time it takes to update these stats. Then the web-stats is updated, any other web-function like changing preferences and so on is also blocked.

If you compares the BOINC-numbers and the 'ud'-numbers, you'll see they're not the same:
BOINC -- web
41.891 -- 41.160
41.894 -- 42.068
44.027 -- 44.614
21.945 -- 43.186
65.407 -- 42.251
22.631 -- 44.866
63.690 -- 43.052

totals:
301.485 -- 301.199

average:
43.069 -- 43.028

All the days there's some small variations between the two stats, but over a week the difference is only 0,1%.

These differences comes from that the stats isn't run at the exact same time.
