Darth, you get cooled off there finally? Getting some pretty heavy rains here. We were cooler for a few days and I was able to take the restraints off the systems. We are upper 80's today and heading for near 100 this weekend. Overall, we've had an average summer except for the quarter inch of rain we got on Sunday - typically we get zero rain during the summer. The last 15 summers or so have all been hotter than average, so it's nice to be back to average. If our average weather continues, I don't expect that we'll have sustained cooler weather until mid-October, but I would not mind being surprised by a cold spell. Now if we could just get some snow ... for a day or two. January 1976 was the last time we had anything more than a trace amount of snow on the ground near sea level. - D |

January 1976 was the last time we had anything more than a trace amount of snow on the ground near sea level. - D Yea, I remember my days in Texas with the 100F+ days of summer where getting below 90 at night felt like a cold wave. Dry heat, shmy heat. If it's over 100, it's just plain hot. It typically broke about this time in September too. Of course, CA weather is just plaid wierd. Snow up to your hips in late March up in the Sequioa and Yosemite parks and warm spring weather down on the bay. Now for seeing the bay, you can't beat the short hike to the top of Angel Island. |
