For a review of this situation you can refer to this thread http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ead,26633_offset,0#247464

Also based upon my experiences, BOINC 6.6.36 will work with SL, however the default 6.2.18 version which is WCG supported will not work with SL. Please note 6.6.36 is NOT supported by WCG.

Use the Alpha version if you desire at your own risk.

I had the same problem after upgrding to SL on MacBookPro. At first BOINC would not run, I then downloaded the 'default' Mac BOINC version on the World Community Grid download page (6.2.18) as of 9.18.09. When that didn't work, I installed 6.6.36 for Mac OS X and it now seems to be running again. However Boinc ScreenSaver does not seem to be working.

That's right. The SS is for Mac fixed in 6.10, very alpha state software.

Re: Upgrade from Leopard (10.5 OSX) to Snow Leopard (10.6 OSX) on my iMac. BOINC not working.

I have just upgraded my Mac to SL and it appears that the 6.2.18 client does freeze on the system. I then installed the 6.6.36 client from the BOINC site and this does work after a reboot of the system. I will be sending a note to the website guru's to see about wording the page on our site to explain this known issue. Thank you for reporting it and I am sorry it took me so long to test it.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I just found that reinstalling 6.6.36 fixed the problem ...

Yes, even if you ran v6.6.36 before upgrade to SL, the upgrade of SL removes the specific BOINC-user-accounts/groups, so you'll always need to re-install BOINC after the upgrade.
