Well i think that is a shame-Posts have already been edited or removed, whats the difference? True we had some members that were passionate about their views were some out of line. Some of us were constantly attacked but i don't think we complained to management and no one is forced to read these threads. We are the "Heart and Soul" of WCG and this is PC Not to mention the monetary sacrifice we suffer for this project and WCG.You have all of our e-mail addresses and could have communicated in that manner.

Re: Forum Policy

Lock and edit fine. I don't think they should be removed, particularly the greenies thread - it's 2.5 years old. That's too much censorship. angry

Re: Forum Policy

I applaud your decision, and WCG has been very tolerant.

Re: Forum Policy

Actually I'm glad they killed them. When I come here I don't want to see political heated posts. I want to see post about boinc, computers and the projects ect...

Re: Forum Policy

I would so much have prefered if you just edited the posts that were violating rules... one of these threads is 147 pages long of history of the topic.

fine lock the thread if you want but allow us to link the new thread to it so if people want the history and past comments we can at least link to them.

in my opinion there is alot of usefull stuff in those threads like links that may be hard for some people to find again .

yes it was a bit heated of a debate at times.

I would prefer to see e-mails to us the members if we make a bad post and or the post modified to remove objectionable material.

all of these long threads should in my opinion be saved since they are something we are passionate about.

Also alot of time people may not realize they are posting something objectionable. in the past i have had a post of mine or 2 edited cause of some words i used were objectionable... I didn't realize those words were considered objectionable till my post was edited.

you say we are the heart and sole of the project...and then we hear that one of the MAJOR length threads is being removed (well 2 of them)

Wish these threads could be restored.

Re: Forum Policy

on a further note.

mabey a comment could be put on the topic "heated debate"

this is the chat room "A meeting place to chat and discuss issues that members wish to discuss. Any information that is offensive can be removed by the Forum Administrator."

i have always heard if you find something objectionable on TV or raido you can always turn the channel.

there are alot of threads in the chat room i do not read cause i do not want to

again please edit posts that we go to far on but please dont remove all of the good and non objectionable content that are in these debates.

Re: Forum Policy

TKH et al: please advise what in the "greenies" thread recent posts, besides the very last page, deserves deleting and is in violation of forum policy?

While I have a life and therefore do not have the time to sift through the fluff in those threads, I believe that the reason the thread should have been locked 2.4 years ago was that, in some cases, unsupported personal opinion was being presented as scientific fact. The historical term for that action is called: The Big Lie.
I always though it was a waste of disk space.
