I've managed to talk a friend into running WCG. He's interested in results per day more than points per day. (I really don't know why.) He has an older computer with a P4 CPU with HT, 2GB of RAM, and XP Home. Which project(s) should he run on that computer to return the most results per day it is capable of? I'm thinking Rice since it runs a set length of time but I'm not sure.....

On average the shortest are HCMD2 at about 4.6 hours, range from an hour to 6 hours. They're also lightest in memory requirements i.e. lest bottleneck chance.

Most WUs will run 6 hours, very exceptionally less (I have none in my current Results Status) and a few will be allowed to complete the job. Out of 26 complete WUs currently in my Result Status for the P4 HT I can see 3 which ran 9.25, 10.47 and 10.12. But that is still an average 6.5 hours per WU so it's a slightly better throughput than Rice with its steady 7 hours average.
