shock Finished WU with Status 'waiting to run'?

Problem with HPF - Phase 2 6.03 ma 336_00068-12:

This WU has run for 7:25, lists 100% progress . .

. . . but on Status it shows 'waiting to run'

First time to ever run into this situation. . . Have tried to 'update' to no avail.

Help!

Happens occasionally where "100.0%" is in fact rounded 99.9999%. Eventually the client will schedule the wrap-up and send the result back. Question: Are other jobs now using the CPU time and are those WCG too? If so, in time it will get back to that job.

ciao

Thanks, that sounds reasonable.

I am currently running another project, I will crunch more WCG and see if that straightens out this issue.

Thanks, the issue resolved itself by running WCG .

Re: Finished WU with Status 'waiting to run'?

You really don't have to do anything. The fact that you run multiple projects makes the client scheduler switch project e.g. every 2 hours, but that will be done when a checkpoint was reached and the last one happens to be just before 100.%. Since the client waits for a checkpoint before switching project (aka "preempting"), it will switch immediately upon checkpoint reached and 2 hours passed. After the next 2 hours or whatever you set the "Switch between applications every XX minutes" will it go back and do the final verification, zipping and transmission.

This is predicated on projects that have regular checkpoints and a fairly equal "Project Weight" (aka Resource Share). If a project does not have any, some don't or have checkpoints many hours apart, could it take longer.

For the options mentioned above, visit the Preferences FAQ: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=17033#177091

Personally I prefer a switch time of 4-8 hours. This way there is less task alternating and at the end of the day or week the projects still get their allocated weight. The client takes care of that through an accounting system using the short term and long term debt records for each project.
