project servers may be temporarily down

I just setup BOINC and attached WCG but I am unable to communicate at all. I have other projects running just fine but WCG does not work at all for me. Here is the log:

02-Nov-2009 11:01:50 [World Community Grid] Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.  Requesting 3622 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
02-Nov-2009 11:01:51 [---] Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
02-Nov-2009 11:01:52 [---] Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.
02-Nov-2009 11:01:55 [World Community Grid] Scheduler request failed: Failure when receiving data from the peer

I am using Ubuntu 9.04 BOINC version 6.2.18 on a x86_64 processor.

@lawrencehardin: Thanks for the links. Seems I had to add <force_auth>basic</force_auth> to get my client working behind the proxy.
