No device showing in WCD Device Manager

I hate to trouble you with questions, but I couldn't find an answer.

I have been working on the Climatecontrol, SETI, and such projects since 5/4/09 and it shows results for me, but when I check under the WCG is says I have done no work and shows no device at all to do my work.

When I change the ranges to anytime/anytime under the device manager, nothing appears. Under My Statistics, nothing appears.

I setup my device when I started but do not know where it has disappeared.

Can anyone help me?

Re: No device showing in WCD Device Manager

If you switch BOINC Manager to Advanced View do you see any tasks for World Community Grid?

Re: No device showing in WCD Device Manager

There are three of them.

Two from Climate prediction, and one from SETI.

Re: No device showing in WCD Device Manager

There are three of them.

Two from Climate prediction, and one from SETI.

And so NONE of them is a WCG workunit.

You may wish to check the Result Status page to see if there are any WUs listed there.

If not, then, according to: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/stat/vi...mes%5B0%5D.value=juilifan
There are no results returned under the username juilifan, so you may wish to check if your login ID is the correct one.

Edit: Oh yes: make sure you have "World Community Grid" listed under BOINC Manager's Advanced View - Projects tab.

Re: No device showing in WCD Device Manager

There are no results listed under the Result Status page.

Trying to attach to project, I get an error message, "Failed to attach to project. Check messages for details."

Under message this is listed
12/25/2009 1:06:28 PM||Fetching configuration file from http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/get_project_config.php
12/25/2009 1:06:28 PM||Resuming network activity

Under My Project I have every box checkmarked under WCG.

But then I look under Device Manager and it shows no devices installed, which means my computer isn't registered with WCG?

Re: No device showing in WCD Device Manager

I assume that you are not using BAM. Even though it attaches to other projects, WCG, that is http://worldcommunitygrid.org is not yet set up for it.

I have tested about 50 projects WITHOUT using BAM and haven't had any problem attaching BOINC to them individually.

Now back to the continuing question...

Ah, is that the BOINC Manager?

Nope, it's one of the BOINC account managers and is not created by Berkeley: http://boincstats.com/bam/

Hi juilifan!
I think that would help us if you could paste the start of your message log in your next post, from the first line "Starting BOINC client..." down to the first line "Restarting task...".

Read you later. Jean.

OK I don't see any lines that say starting BOINC client in my messages anywhere.

I will post what I have the last few days if that helps,
