Re: Teaser for another Beta. DDD2 type B

hunter, we were just looking at that report. we're not sure what caused it. the wingmen on that work unit have not errored when we looked. So we're not sure if it was something on your machine or a fluke...anyways, that work unit is on our radar to look into. So far that is the only error we've seen.

so far I have received 13 beta's that are in query, working on 2 at the moment,

Sek, you got 4...why are you taking so many? lol. It's a luck thing. I believe that we have sent out about half at this point. The pe work units went out first which have the large input files. So there are still some going out at this point.

I'm so embarrassed to have gotten more than I wanted, that I've changed the profile to go fetch regular work again, when there's space in the buffer. The first 2 [CHARMM based] jobs were pushed ahead in the processing queue, a136 and a119 of the pe type, with 2 more a135 and a137. Using 32mb Ram and about 385mb VM. Temps look normal on the laptop.

Re: Teaser for another Beta. DDD2 type B

With a Write to Disk setting of 150 seconds, they checkpoint nicely every 3 minutes or so, but after 37 minutes CPU time only showing 2.6% progress is signaling long-er run times for the 4 snagged. 33mb ram, 385mb VM, unchanged. The To Completion times are continuously counting up.

Re: Teaser for another Beta. DDD2 type B

Are any of you that are getting beta units running 6.10.18 or is everyone running the 6.2.28 client? Are the betas set up to only go to the "WCG recommended" client?

I had been pretty lucky getting units from past betas, but since I started with the new client, I haven't gotten squat.

Re: Teaser for another Beta. DDD2 type B

I have got 4 pe ones running fine, checkpointing at every round percent as Swiss clocks.
Estimated at 8:40 hours by BOINC, maybe closer to 8 hours based on their current speed.
All 4 using 28.7 MB RAM and 374.2 MB virtual storage under Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit.
If they are not paid one third of the price like my previous type A ** everything will be fine. wink

Cheers. Jean.

** Thanks to some strange wingman... devilish

Re: Teaser for another Beta. DDD2 type B

No, the client version is irrelevant in getting beta work... and the scheduler and timekeeping of 6.10.18 is... well I've long moved through 7 more iterations to 6.10.25 ;>)

edit: that 6.10.25 is an alpha client :D

pirogue, it is just luck...there is no requirement on agent version. By now though I believe all the work units have been sent out.
