Unfortunately we can't find anything with more consistency in the specilized press... hexa deca ? dodec ? maybe some day... devilish good luck peace coffee

Re: After the 6 core what comes next ?

Some nice info here on the up and coming cpu's

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/03/04/intel_xeon_opteron_giveaway/

plus we also get a mention as well, albeit tongue in cheek

Still the word gets out about the WCG

There's no such thing as bad publicity

Re: After the 6 core what comes next ?

Hi Dave,
Yes, I was glad to see that someone was aware of the WCG. It is a good sign when they start using the WCG as an example of philanthropy. I thought about posting the article from the Register in Chat, but decided that it was too long without enough mention of WCG to merit that accolade.

Re: After the 6 core what comes next ?

We have an IBM blade with 4 Quad-Core Opterons. It is a double-blade, so it is likely that the same design will be with 8- and 12-core Opteron processors.

Re: After the 6 core what comes next ?

As someone from the Sinclair ZX81 generation you would not believe how much this vid in German has made me smile this morning

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uz2CbiwKYjg

Eins, Zwei, Drei, Vier, Fünf, Sechs Cores biggrin

I have 4 cores pending in cupboard just in need of a PSU and an OS.

I would love to see, one day, all 6 of those boxes in Task Manager flatlining at 100% for the WCG

biggrin
