2009-11-12 07:48:36 [www.worldcommunitgrid.org] Message from server: Server can't open database The subject message confirms a successful connection by the client to the project BOINC scheduling servers, but was unable to complete the transaction. knreed wrote some time ago: This issue is caused by the db load being temporarily too high. This most often occurs during the scheduled database backups. However, some of our other processes too do things like compute the estimated duration of the workunits which also can cause load on the db that forces those messages to occur. Please Do Not hit the Update button in the BOINC manager, rather let the client decide when to reconnect after a deferral as a such operation by many volunteers in quasi simultaneous mode will only amplify the issue.
