DDDT2 - now an Intermittent project

I've just noticed that this project has (in my thinking, quite rightly) been moved to being an 'Intermittent' project.

Hopefully, that'll help reduce the number of queries from crunchers, demanding a constant stream of WU's.

Re: DDDT2 - now an Intermittent project

gb009761, You are very fast and caught the change before we made the official post.

So as an official post, we did change the project status from Active to now Intermittent in some places. The project is still considered Active Research.

The reason for changing it was to help members understand that there will be no work available from time to time. At this time, we do not see work being a steady in the terms of lots of work queued up waiting for members to receive it.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Thanks uplinger.
Think it was wise decision.
It was just causing tension from unpatient chrunchers.
Go on with such a great work.

Good call Uplinger.

Hopefully this move will calm some of the disgruntled people around here.

We will keep our eyes open on the forecast so we can set out
our buckets. And maybe a little real rain, Alberta is gonna turn
into a dustbowl if we dont get some soon. Not that I wanna
mow my lawn or anything...

Thank's uplinger.
Intermittent or Beta are all fine as what they mean. And that is: close your umbrellas the sky is clear. The small clouds here and there will just let go a few drops. Nothing to be afraid of. wink

Re: DDDT2 - now an Intermittent project

Does the order on that list have anything to do with the order in which projects are checked for available work? (what is the order?)

Cheers coffee

Re: DDDT2 - now an Intermittent project

The order is from newest to oldest in sections:

Active
Intermittent
Complete

If your question implied to first check HCMD2 > HFCC > HCC > HPF2 > FAAH, no not that I can make out. There are algorithms too that attempt to provide a fair share of the selected projects and what happens to be in the shared memory, but that seems to be results quantity based rather than run time. It must though be said that the tech try to set the ratios so that the run time will quasi balance

The exception to the rule is though Beta is intermittent, it's always the first queue checked for work when activated.

Re: DDDT2 - now an Intermittent project

If if I have HFCC (active) and DDDT2 (intermittent) both selected, will I ever get DDDT2 work as long as there is HFCC work?

Cheers coffee

Re: DDDT2 - now an Intermittent project

NixChix,

Yes you will. But right now there is no new work for DDDT2. Your agent would download either HFCC work or DDDT2 work when both are available. The system will send you one of the two, but there is not a priority of which one you'll get. Strictly random if both work units types are available.
