Hello, My name is Patrick Jenkinson, I am currently enrolled in La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a computer science major. I am currently enrolled in a course in social justice in which I have to interview people involved in an organization dedicated to the betterment of the world. We have been encouraged to find organizations related to our interest, and being a CS major I thought that an organization like this could work well for my project.
So, if you are interested and don't mind taking the time to answer some questions, it would be a great help if you talked a little bit about yourself and why you are involved with the project. Please note that this is for a project that involves both a paper and oral presentation, and that I will probably have to use direct quotes from these interviews in both, so if you do not want to appear in the project please specify that at the beginning of your response. Now, on to the questions: What is your name? If you are officially affiliated directly with the World Community Grid or IBM, what is your title? What made you decide to help out with the World Community Grid? How do you feel the World Community Grid is helping to make the world a better place? How has your involvement with the World Community Grid affected you personally? Meaning is their a sense of pride associated with helping out on a project like this, and do you enjoy what you are doing with the organization? The World Community Grid is a technically advanced form of charity work, what do you feel are the good and bad sides to using technology to try to help people? Finally, how do you feel further advances in technology will enable people to help those less fortunate down the road? Thank you for taking the time to read my post, thank all of you for your support of an innovative new way to help the world, and (with any luck) thank those of you who helped my project by providing answers to my questions. Thank you for reading Pat Jenkinson |

Pat,
----------------------------------------If the email address you have set for WCG is a dedicated one that you can close when you are finished with this study, you might increase your chances of success by checking the "Show email" box in your "My Forum Profile". That will add an email icon at the bottom of your post which will allow interested members to answer you directly without disclosing their answers publicly on this forum. Good luck. Jean. |

Hello
Sorry about not giving an email from the get go, this is my first time interviewing somebody for a project and my teacher isn't really tech savvy so I was a bit in the dark concerning the etiquette for something like this. I signed up for the service using an email account I mainly use for signing up for things, and the servers have yet to update my email on the forums to my personal one (Regretfully I do not have an email account dedicated to the project) but you can contact me at jenkinsonp1@lasalle.edu if you would like to help me out. Once again apologies for my lack of tact. |

Once again apologies for my lack of tact. No problem Pat. It was not criticism (most people here don't activate their mail icon), it was just a tip for your particular case. ![]() |
