Cannot install client: stalls on "Customize Installations Options" screen

I'm trying to install the BOINC client on a new machine. I'm downloading version 6.2.28 for Windows from secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/reg/ms/viewDownloadAgain.do# stepping over the Welcome screen, the License Agreement screen, to the BOINC Configuration screen. From here "Next>" instead of proceeding goes into the Customize Installation Options screen, and from there Next> doesn't do anything. You cannot proceed, just <Back or Cancel works.

Any idea what's wrong? Thanks!

Hi,

The main installation screens for 6.2.28 are found in this FAQ:

If there are no selections, then the install can't proceed, so which boxes of the sample screen have you ticked?

~~With "Custom", presume you mean the "Advanced" screen?. If not plz post a screenshot of that Custom window.~~ So it seems.

edit: weird, but I just testing 6.2.28 install on W7-32 and even when deselecting everything the next button works fine, directly and via Advanced, which then offers the screen with the Install button.

edit2: I wonder if the paths are to locations where the installee is authorized to put the software and data. A screenshot would be most helpful.
