There are GPU-tasks.
As I undestand flodisar was moving or something so that's probably why his machines are off. |

Currently i only got one out of 4 crunchers running, and desided to give my gaming rig with two gpus a break

----------------------------------------I read elsewhere someone said that the 8000 series is coming out early this year. I looked at a wiki page for them and it looks like there is one for $279 that will be very powerful for the money! Like the 8870 I think. It compares 30% more power than the 7870 at least. It is true I am in the middle of a move to a new flat, which partly has become true living hell due to countless of factors....so I have been away for a few days from WCG and also my machines have been turned off for a while. Hope to be back with GPUcrunching really soon though! :) Jack, oh yes the HD8000-series from AMD should be something to look forward to. Not many details are confirmed, but I sure hope they have not put away focus from GPGPU applications (like nVidia did going from Fermi GTX500-series to Kepler GTX 600-series). It would seem unlikely though since AMD is pushing very offensively on GPGPU at the moment. Good for WCG in other words :) The latest I've heard is a release on Q2 2013 so they could be a few more months, but unless my mind is playing tricks with me I would say that they plan on releasing the mobile HD8000 series really soon (Q1 2013) - maybe that is what you have read also, Jack? We can try to do it as a team or not, I'm just going to focus on that and HCC GPU for now. Maybe finish working on that I7 3770K, I finally got a new copy of Windows 8 for 60 bucks. The sales guy SWEARS it's not an upgrade.... we will see. |
