Re: Join The International Team

Good morning team....How goes it? I didn't want to get out of bed today. You can tell it's Fall here now as the mornings are getting darker later and the evenings earlier. It make me think I still have time for some zzzzzz's in the morning.

Wish I could get some extra zzzz's. Don't mind Fall coming but I'm not really looking forward to what comes next.

Re: Join The International Team

We did improve. Yesterday we were 36th.
And our ranking has moved by a significant amount over these few days. We are now at rank 1'298.
Let's see how long before we reach 1'000. smile

Re: Join The International Team

I was looking at the team stats and it is amazing the disparity between runtime and points.
acpartsman you have 1'935'950 points for 7 years and 324 days. That makes a ratio of 672 points/CPU day.
I have 4'859'729 points for 3 years and 91 days. That makes a ratio of 4097 points/CPU day. This 6 times more.
I wonder what causes this difference. I see that you have 77 devices in your profile but how many are active?. I have at the moment 14 devices that crunch. If you have much more devices then maybe that will addup.

Maybe the difference is due to the CPU crunching power. Faster cpu's will deliver more work, hence more points in a shorter time. The faster the CPU the higher the ratio point/runtime. With my hexcore (12 threads) I get 12 CPU days per day in average. This is logical as the CPU runs 24/7. And yes with the quad cores (8 threads) I get 8 days.

Re: Join The International Team

Hi Hypernova. You're right. My problem is most of my machines are old. I take anything anyone will give me (usually the local computer shop) and either scavnge it for parts or revive it to crunch. here's a list of processors I'm using.
1.8g, 1.7, 3.0hyperthread, 1.6hyperthread, 2.4quad core, 1.0dual core, 1.3, 2.8quad core, 1.6, 1.3, 1.8, 1.4, 2.8, 1.0
733m, 933dual core, 866, 350, 450dual core, 933dual core, 600, 266, 450, 300, 400, 350, 400, 333, 266, 450, 333, 500, 450, 400, 333, 266, 600, 550, 333, 300, 500, 300, 266, 400, 350

Memory varies greatly from one machine to another, i cram in whatever it'll take or whatever I can get my hands on for free. The multicore machines are actually file servers but I'm using them as computers. You may ask why i use the really old & slow stuff at all. Well, every little bit counts and those are in a building where it gets as high as 100 in the summer, 40 in the winter and we won't even talk about humidity. Those oldies just keep going & going & going. The only one that has gone bad so far was a 12 year old Dell that lost it's processor fan and that did in the processor.
