Reinstalling client as a Service on Windows 7 [Resolved]

I mistakenly installed BOINC as a normal application on a Windows 7 laptop.

Can I install it as a service without loosing all the downloaded WUs?

Reason is, I left the laptop running WCG for 4 days, only to find that it had rebooted itself and therefore hadn't progressed any WCG WUs for that time. sad

TIA.
Patrick

Select Protect Execution Mode + All Users and the client will run before you log in.

See Screenshot instructions, point 3 or point 4 depending on 6.2 or 6.10 client choice.

Please when satisfied, insert [RESOLVED] in the opening post title of this thread.

Good luck.

Re: Reinstalling client as a Service on Windows 7

How do I get it to modify the install?

Only gives me repair and remove options.

Do I remove then install, and risk loosing the unfinished WUs?

Remove aka uninstall. You should not be loosing anything, just make a note of the data_dir in the message log now and when reinstalling, make sure the data_dir option is pointing at the same location.
